GE GRS500PVSS
The GE GRS500PVSS is the plain, lower-cost GE slide-in: five radiant elements and the same 5.3 cu ft oven size as the GRS600, but a traditional (non-convection) oven, no Wi-Fi and a fanless Crisp Mode instead of true air fry.
Why it stands out
- Five radiant elements, including two Power Boil elements up to 3,100 W (GE’s figures).
- Self-clean and steam clean; GE lists it as ENERGY STAR certified.
- Also offered in black (GRS500PVBB) and white (GRS500PVWW).
Good fit if
- You want the built-in slide-in look for the least money.
- You cook mostly on the cooktop and use the oven for everyday bakes.
- You do not care about apps or air fry.
Skip it if
- You want convection — step up to the GE GRS600AVFS.
- You bake in batches on two or more racks.
Reviewed tested it alongside its picks without an award, noting it lacks Wi-Fi and true convection. GE’s 7-minute Express Preheat claim is the brand’s own.
