Best Slide-In Electric Range With Knobs

The best slide-in electric range with knobs is the Bosch 800 Series HEI8056U: metal cooktop knobs, a numeric keypad for the oven and a warming drawer. Knobs give quick, by-feel control, but front knobs can be bumped on by accident, so Consumer Reports recommends choosing a range with a control lockout.

Best with knobs#1

Bosch 800 Series HEI8056U

The Bosch 800 Series HEI8056U is the knob lover’s slide-in: metal knobs for the cooktop, a numeric keypad for oven temperature, a convection oven and a real warming drawer. Bob Vila named it Best Overall slide-in electric range; its oven is smaller than most at 4.6 cu ft.

Why it stands out

  • Five radiant elements, including 3,000 W and 3,200 W dual elements (Bosch’s figures).
  • Convection bake, broil and roast with auto conversion; Bosch says cookies can bake on several racks at once.
  • Warming drawer with low, medium and high settings, Sabbath mode and self-clean.
CooktopRadiant, 5 elements, up to 3,200 W
Oven4.6 cu ft + warming drawer
ConvectionConvection (2,000 W element)
Air fryNot listed
ControlsMetal knobs + display, no Wi-Fi

Good fit if

  • You want physical knobs and a European-style build.
  • You use a warming drawer, not a storage drawer.
  • Your oven loads are everyday sizes rather than very large roasts.

Skip it if

  • You want Wi-Fi or air fry — neither is listed.
  • You need a large oven — 4.6 cu ft is the smallest here.
  • You want a plug-in hookup — Bosch’s spec lists hard-wired connection.

Bosch’s own site showed this model out of stock (not discontinued) when we checked. Bosch covers cosmetic defects for only 30 days, so inspect it on delivery.

Best radiant with knobs and air fry#2

Frigidaire Professional PCFE3080AF

The Frigidaire Professional PCFE3080AF is a radiant front-control range with real cooktop knobs, a bridge element, a 6.2 cu ft Total Convection oven and an included air fry tray.

Why it stands out

  • Physical knobs for the cooktop plus a touch display for the oven.
  • Left bridge element and a 3,200 W right-front element (spec sheet).
  • 3,800 W Total Convection, air fry with tray included, probe and glide rack.
CooktopRadiant, 5 elements + bridge, up to 3,200 W
Oven6.2 cu ft
ConvectionTotal Convection (3,800 W)
Air fryYes, tray included
ControlsKnobs + touch, no Wi-Fi

Good fit if

  • You want knobs and a pro-style look on a radiant cooktop.
  • You air fry often and want the tray in the box.

Skip it if

  • You want Wi-Fi.
  • You need a countertop-overlap slide-in (see the note).

Frigidaire markets this as a 30-inch front-control range, and Amazon, Home Depot and Reviewed list it as slide-in. Frigidaire’s own installation guide calls the design “front-control freestanding”: it fits a standard 30-inch opening without a backguard, but it does not have a lip that overlaps the countertop.

Best induction with knobs#3

Frigidaire Professional PCFI3080AF Induction

The Frigidaire Professional PCFI3080AF puts knobs on an induction cooktop, which is rarer than it should be. It has five induction zones with a bridge, a 3,600 W boost zone and the same 6.2 cu ft Total Convection oven and air fry tray as its radiant twin.

Why it stands out

  • Induction with physical knobs instead of touch-only controls.
  • Left bridge zone and a 3,600 W boost zone (spec sheet).
  • 6.2 cu ft oven with Total Convection, air fry tray included, probe.
CooktopInduction, 5 zones + bridge, 3,600 W boost

ControlsKnobs + touch, no Wi-Fi

Good fit if

  • You want induction but hate touch sliders.
  • You cook with large pans or griddles on a bridge zone.

Skip it if

  • You want Wi-Fi.
  • You need a countertop-overlap slide-in — the Amazon title itself says free standing.

Samsung Bespoke NSE6DG8550SR Flex Duo

The Samsung Bespoke NSE6DG8550SR has one 6.3 cu ft oven that becomes two when you slide in the Flex Duo divider. It pairs illuminated precision knobs with a 3,600 W element, a triple element, air fry, Wi-Fi and an included griddle.

Why it stands out

  • Flex Duo divider turns one big oven into two cavities when you need them.
  • Radiant cooktop with a 3,600 W Express Boil element and a 6/9/12-inch triple element (Samsung’s figures).
  • Illuminated knobs, Wi-Fi, air fry and Air Sous Vide; griddle included.

ConvectionConvection+
Air fryYes
ControlsLit knobs + dial, Wi-Fi

Good fit if

  • You want two ovens sometimes and one big oven the rest of the time.
  • You like knobs that light up when an element is on.

Skip it if

  • You clean the oven often with the divider in — a Samsung Flex Duo manual for an earlier model says self-clean and steam clean cannot run with the divider in.
  • You want factory-run service — Yale says Samsung service is still a work in progress, so check local reviews.

FOTILE FreshBake RES30552

The FOTILE FreshBake RES30552 is a radiant slide-in with a filter on the oven exhaust that the brand says removes most grease, smoke and odor. It adds a 3,600 W tri-ring element, a 5.7 cu ft convection oven, an included air fry tray and illuminated knobs. Reviewed named it Best for the Environment.

Why it stands out

  • FreshBake oven-exhaust filter (FOTILE claims over 90% removal of grease, smoke and VOCs).
  • Tri-ring 12/9/6-inch 3,600 W element and a dual 10/6-inch element.
  • Air fry tray included; FOTILE lists 1 year of labor and 3 years on parts.

Good fit if

  • You want Wi-Fi or an app.
  • You want a mainstream brand’s service network.

FOTILE’s spec lists the power cord as not included.

JennAir RISE JES1750ML Downdraft

The JennAir RISE JES1750ML is the only electric slide-in we found with a built-in downdraft vent still in production. It pulls cooking fumes down between the elements, so you can skip an overhead hood where one is impractical.

Why it stands out

  • Built-in downdraft (300 CFM maximum motor, JennAir’s figure) with an optional ductless kit.
  • True convection with a 3,200 W element and air fry.
  • Die-cast metal knobs; power cord included.
CooktopRadiant, 4 elements + downdraft vent
Oven6.4 cu ft (brand spec table)
ConvectionTrue convection (3,200 W)
Air fryYes
ControlsMetal knobs + touch, no Wi-Fi

Good fit if

  • Your kitchen cannot take an overhead hood.
  • You cook mainly on the back elements.

Skip it if

  • You fry or sear a lot — Yale says the vent struggles with front-burner smoke at high heat.
  • You want smart features — it has none.

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory field tests found downdraft ranges captured front-burner fumes poorly and moved well below their rated airflow.

Tips

Three things that make the difference

01

Use the lock

Consumer Reports recommends a control lockout on ranges with front controls, and GE’s ranges lock with a 3-second press on Lock Control.

02

Think about who is in the kitchen

Yale Appliance suggests homes with young children or elderly relatives look at induction or rear-control ranges, citing LG’s recall of more than 500,000 front-control electric ranges.

03

Lit knobs help

Samsung’s NSE6DG8550SR and FOTILE’s RES30552 have illuminated knobs, which make it easier to see at a glance that an element is on.

Honest note

Front knobs are easy to knock. Yale Appliance notes that LG’s fix for its front-control recall was a warning sticker, and that induction and gas ranges were not part of those recalls. If small children are around, induction with knobs, such as the Frigidaire PCFI3080AF, keeps the glass cooler.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Why choose a range with knobs?

Knobs let you adjust heat by feel without looking for a touch pad, which some cooks prefer. Touch controls can frustrate: Reviewed called the touch controls on Frigidaire’s Gallery induction model finicky.

Are front knobs safe with children?

They need care. Yale says front knobs are easy to bump on, and Consumer Reports recommends a control lockout. Induction surfaces stay cooler than radiant glass, and ENERGY STAR says they stay cool with no pan on them.

Can I get induction with knobs?

Yes. Frigidaire’s Professional PCFI3080AF and LG’s STUDIO LSIS6338FE both put physical knobs on an induction cooktop.

Do knobs or touch controls last longer?

We found no data comparing them. Every brand here gives the same one-year warranty, so choose the controls you prefer to use every day.

What is a downdraft range with knobs?

The JennAir RISE JES1750ML has die-cast metal knobs and a vent that pulls fumes down between the elements. Yale calls it the only downdraft range still in production.

Do knobs control the oven too?

Usually only the cooktop. Bosch uses a numeric keypad for oven temperature, Samsung’s NSE6DG8550SR adds a dial, and Frigidaire’s Professional models use a touch display for the oven.
